ALFABETIZACIÓN....

From the begining of this program we all felt very excited with the idea of teaching people. The first assignment that was given to all of us, was to look fot 2 people that would like to study all Saturdays. For this, we went to the streets to ask all the people if they would like to study, it was very difficult because most of the people didn’t like the idea. When I finally found the 2 people we had to write as much information as we could about the people that we found. The first day of school we had 120 students and many kids. Unfortunately, it was rainning so many people got wet. We had to use all the umbrellas we had to take them to the classrooms. Once in the classrooms, the teachers welcomed them and the started to hand out the tests. The test helped us to know to which “modulo”they had to go. The ”modulos” we had are: Modulo 1, Modulo 2, Modulo 3, Modulo 4. This 4 “modulos” are just for people from 15 and up. All the children and babies were taken to diffrent places. From 6-15 were taken to “Nivelación” and the younger guys were taken to “Guarderia”. I had to go to “Nivelación”. The first day, we played a lot of games and the kids had a lot of fun, but the next days, we split up in groups and every teacher had to teach or help to do homework to a different group of children. The experience was nice and stressfull at the same time because there were children that liked to play and make a lot of noice, also, there were children that didn’t concentrate and didn’t learn or understand what we said. It was also stressfull because, some days, we had 40 students in the class and we had to teach to many children and control them and we got tired very fast, but also there were very peaceful days were we had just 15 hildren and we could play and relax. The experience was good and nice. In the middle of the school year, Lic. Campaña and his wife, deided to transfer us to other classrooms. I was transfered to Modulo 3. The first days, the students and us felt a little unconfortable because they were new students for us and we were new teachers for them. We met all the students and started to teach them. It was easier to work with this people because some of them understood faster and easily. At the begining I used to teach them English and later I tought them Spanish. Sometimes we felt very stressed because there were this two women that didn’t like to study, didn’t pay attention in class and didn’t have a good class participation. In the tests, everybody did them fast and had good grades because they studied, but Magola and Maria in the first tests took very long to do them and also, they did them because we helped them and when we decided not to help them, they didn’t even noticed that we had a test and they hadn’t studied, and what is more, they had terrible grades. We felt very dissapointed of them. They didn’t like to study. In the oter side, there was an excelent man that was the best student. His name was Benito and he was the only man that studied everyday and participated in class, had good grades in homeworks and tests.

As the time passed on we started to get tired so the last days, we just gave our class and then left to Guarderia t play with the children. For the lunchs that we had to give the students, we decided that Physics had to do the lunhs first, later Chemistry people did the lunchs and the next day Socials and everyday different paople had to do them. When we finished giving to all the students, we started to eat if the was any food left. Everyday before and after teahing, we had to go to a meeting with lic. Campaña and Estela. These meetings helped us to learn more and tell them what was missing or what we thought was wrong and they gave us a solution. Also they took the attendance and later we left.

This experience is unforgetable, because we experienced nice and awful things with the student and also with our friends. We learned how to control us when we were mad and stressed and we also learn to apreciate evrything we have because these people don’t have everything we have and they were happy to study and learn more. I liked a lot spending time teaching all the people. This experience at the end, bored a lot of us and we really wanted to go because we felt tired but i think that just by experiencing this, we noticed what it takes to be a teacher and how much we have to apreciate the time and the work teachers spend on us. Being a teacher is difficult, stressfull but also a nice experience because teachers don’t only teach; the can also learn.

school days 2......

After Spencer had spoken with Jose Yang, he went to speak with Jared Clark in jail to see if he said something about the entire situation, but when he went to jail to try to speak with him, he didn't say anything. Jared said that he didn't know anything and that Animal hadn't given the guns to Wendell. Jared said he didn't want to talk about that anymore and he just left.
Spencer didn't know what to do so he decided to go to speak with Animal.
When he went to speak with Animal, he had a gun and started to speak with him but he didn't say anything, so Spencer decided to take advantage of that and hit him. Animal got scared and was saying to Spencer:"don't kill me!"...
Spencer was holding him very strong and Animal said that he wasn't feeling good because it hurt. Spencer told Animal to speak and say all the truth and so Animal did.
Animal said that he gave Wendell the guns and that he had taught him how to shoot. Later, Spencer told him that he wasn't going to kill him under one condition. The condition was that he couldn't do anything with George and that couldn't even see her. He agreed with that. Spencer left.
Spencer decided that he needed to have more information about all that because he wasn't clear yet so he decided to go to the same bar he went before and so he met there with the same guys of the last time. They told him that Jared was weird and that he was the type of guy that liked to be alone. They also said that Wendell was kind of the tough guy that liked to fight and to thing of obscenities. They said that Jared and that Wendell hadn't been together before and that it was weird to see them together.
When Spencer got home he had a voice mail saying that someone needed to meet him at one bar in the morning. He thought it was weird but he went there. When he arrived he saw someone lying in the floor. He went to see who was and he saw that it was George that was dead and then someone started to shoot everywhere. It was Animal. Animal started to yell ay him and then Spencer started to fight with him.
Spencer thought that there was something strange in all this case.
He went to speak with Beth Ann, but when he arrived to the school he saw that President Garner was shouting at her and kicking her so he decided to get out of the car stop all that. Before all that happened Garner gave Spencer a picture of Beth Ann and Jared naked and doing love. Spencer started to speak with Beth Ann and told her that he had one copy of the picture of them naked so she got nervous and started to tell him the truth. She told him that Jared and her fell in love and that had a love relation since he was 14 years old and that they had plans to get married when he was 18. Spencer took her to her house and then went to jail to speak with Jared.
He told Jared everything he had spoken with Beth Ann and he started to tell him their love story. He said that he was in love with her and that Garner used to go at night to the school and check all the lookers and that's why he had found that picture. He said Garner started to threaten them and that’s why he told Wendell all the story and asked Wendell to help him kill Garner. Wendell agreed and that’s why all the shooting took place, because Jared was supposed to kill Garner and then leave but Garner wasn't there and Wendell started to shoot and he wouldn't stop. That’s how everything happened and now he was in jail because he didn't want to ruin Beth Ann's life and didn't say all the truth about their relationship, because he loved her. Spencer felt better after all that and told the entire story to Rita.
Rita replaced Jared's lawyer and tries to make everyone know the truth so that Jared could get out of jail. Spencer continued with his life and with Susan.

COMMENTS AT THE END...!!!!
This book was interesting and i liked it a lot because at the middle of the plot i began to fell bored because everything was the same but later as i continued reading, Spencer discovered new interesting things that no one would have imagined so i liked it more and continued reading. My conclusion is that many times we think that the things that we see are the truth but as we keep trying and don't give up, we can get to the real truth and help many people.

SCHOOL DAYS!!!

My book is called SCHOOL DAYS. Its author is Robert B. Parker. He was born on September 17, 1932 Springfield, Massachusetts.He is an acclaimed American crime writer. Parker and his wife created an independent film company called Pearl Productions, based in Boston. Aside from crime writing, Parker has also produced several Western novels, including Appaloosa, and children's books. In 1994 he collaborated with Japanese photographer Kasho Kumagai on a coffee table book called Spenser's Boston, exploring the city through Spenser's "eyes" via high quality, 4-color photos. Parker has received three nominations and two Edgar Awards from the Mystery Writers of America. He received the first award, the "Best Novel Award" in 1977, for the fourth novel in the Spenser series, The Promised Land. In 1990 he shared, with wife Joan, a nomination for "Best Television Episode" for the TV series B.L. Stryker; however, the award went to David J. Burke and Alfonse Ruggiero Jr. for Wiseguy. In 2002 he received the Grand Master Award Edgar for his collective oeuvre. In 2008 he was awarded the Gumshoe Lifetime Achievement Award.

What makes this book interesting is that a detective has to find out the truth about a murder case. This type of books are interesting because you can see the real work that detectives and policemen have and also you can get to enjoy it because while you read it, you can find new stories that you haven’t even imagined because detetives have to find new different clues about the case, so that they can get to know the trut about it. It has a lot of suspence and it spurs you to read more and more.

The principal characters of this book are Spencer, Jared Clark and Wendell Grant. Spencer is a private detetive; Jared Clark and Wendell Grant are the ones that did the shooting in their school and killed many people.

My book is about a murder that took place in a Boston school. Two guys called Jared and Wendell did the shooting and then the police captured them. Wendell confessed that he did it with Jared and so, Jared also confessed. They didn’t say why they did it. Jared’s grandmother hired Spencer because she didn’t believe that her grandson was guilty. Spencer starts to plan what to do with that because he didn’t know how to prove he was innocent. First, he went to talk with sergeant DiBella because he needed some advie, but DiBella couldn’t help him that much because he didn’t know much about the shooting. Later, he decided to go to the school where the shooting took place. There he met Sue Biegler that was the Dean of students. Whithout aving succes, two policemen went to see Spencer because Cromwell, the chief of police wabted to talk with him. When Spencer arrived were the chief was waiting, the chief told him that he didn’t want to see him again in the school because the murder case was already closed and they dind’t want to remember all the problems that they had because of that. Spencer decided to go to talk with Wendell’s lawyer, Richard Leeland but he didn’t believe they were innocent, he only wanted Wendell to be treated well in jail. He decided to talk to the school psycologist and she told him that Jared said to her that he didn´t know what to do with his life. Beause of this, he went to talk to Jared in jail but he didn’t say a word about the murder. He went to talk to Jared’s parents. They were sad and disappointed because of the murder and they said that they didn’t know why Jared did the shooting, because he was a quiet guy and he had good grades in school. They didn’t know much about his friends or girlfriends. Spencer walked around the house but he didn’t find a clue. He decided to talk to Wendell’s mom. She said that she didn’t get married, because Wendell’s father was an anonymous sperm donor. She decided to have a baby because she wanted to be loved and to have someone next to her to spend time together but Wendell wasn´t like that. He didn’t spend time with her, he just wanted to be with his friends and he was rude wit her, that’s why she didn’t know much about him. She was happy that Wendell was in jail because she didnt love him and she wanted him to stay there.

When Spencer met again with DiBella, DiBella told him that they shooted 37 times and only 17 pf them were missed so Spencer discovered that they already knew ow to shoot and also they had 4 guns and many bullets. So, Spencer decided to talk with Wendell’s grandfather. He told him that he used to give him money and take him to football games but no more. They had a good relationship because he didn’t like the way his daughter was trying to raise Wendell. He also said that he had a gun but he never tought Wendell how to shoot. After all this, he was getting tired and so he got the conclusion that he shouldn’t talk to big people; he should talk with the students because, the murder itself was not a mystery - the mystery was why.

He went back to the school but the president of the school didn’t let him talk to the guys so Spencer decided to go to a bar where all the students used to go after school. There he talked to 2 beautiful ladies who told him that they didn’t know much about Jared and Wendell. They said they thought that Jared and Wendell did the shooting beause “they went kaboom” because they didn’t like school. One of the girls’ name was Janey. They told Spencer where he could get nformation about the shooting.

Next day he went to talk to “Animal”, a gangster who all the people were scared at. He didn’t say Spencer anything about Wendell. Next day, Spencer, Janey and George, one of Animal’s girlfriends met to talk about Wendell. George told spencer that Wendell used to shoot with Animal and that he used to lend Wendell his guns. She also said that Wendell used to take drugs but that she didn’t know why he did the shooting. Animal was told that George had been talking with Spencer and because of that, he hit her. When Spencer noticed that, he took George to the hospital and then to his house do that she could be save. Spencer went to talk to Jared’s grandmother and told her that he didn’t believe he was innocent. She told him that she gave him $3.000 because Jared needed them. Spencer disovered that wit that money, Jared and Wendell bought the guns and bullets; the only thing he didn’t know was......who sold them.

This book is interesting and I like it a lot. Not only because of the suspence, but for the vocabulary and the phasal words I have found there. I like the imagination that the author has. The story get everyday more and more interesting. I also like it because, this can happen anywhere and it talks a lot about many problems that we are starting to have in our country, like murder, drugs and many other things.

LuPiNuS pRºject....

LUPINUS:

For this lupinus Project, first we did a research of lupinus. This reseasrch explained us all the uses of lupinus, its names and where it is grown. Later, after researching everything about lupinus, we did a project with it. We had to make anything where we could put lupinus as decoration. Melissa and me did a photo frame from “espuma flex”, we painted it and then we decorated it with the lupinus seeds. After doing this, we had to do the ceviche of lupinus. For this, maru, fer, martin, me and me did one group and divided between us all the ingredients to do the ceviche. In the lab, we did the ceviche.

The ingredients to do this ceviche of lupinus were:

1. onion
2. tomato salse
3. tomato
4. lemon
5. “hierbitas”
6. salt
7. pepper
8. “chifles”
9. oil
10. lupinus
11. knife

The steps for the lupinus ceviche are:

1. First we liquate te tomato and sieve it.
2. Later, we put some lemon juice to the sieved tomato.
3. We mix everything and wash the onion and the “hierbitas”.
4. We cut them in small pieces wit the knife.
5. Later, we choose the lupinus that are good and wash them.
6. The “hierbitas” and onion that we cut in small pieces before put in the mixed juice of lemon with tomato.
7. Also, we had to put the washed lupinus in the mixed juice.
8. We mix everything and put a little bit of tomato salse, salt and oil and mix everything again.
9. When everything is ready, we serve the ceviche and put some pepper and “chifles”.

This lupinus ceviche was really good, and we all enjoided doing it.

IGUAZÚ FALLS...!!!

Iguazú Falls are waterfalls of the Iguazu River located in the border of Brazilian State of Paraná and the Argentine province of Misiones. It is divided in the upper and lower Iguazú. Some of the falls are up to 82 meters. You can visit this falls either from the Brazilian side or from the argentine side. The Argentine side has most of the falls, and here to get to the "GARGANTA DEL DIABLO FALL" you need to have a 1 kilometre walk, but also here in the Argentine side, you can get the train to some stops. Iguazú falls are wider than the Victoria Falls and the Niagara Falls because it splits into 270 discrete falls and large islands.
This past school year, I was in ballet, and while I was in class, the teachers told me that I was selected for the cultural interchange with Argentina. I was really happy. So in this summer, I went to Argentina for one month. In the middle of the month, like in the second week, we were supposed to go to a trip near the city where we were staying, but it had to be cancelled so we decided to go to the Iguazú Falls. The first thing that we noticed before going was that it was kind of expensive and that we didn't have enough money to go, but fortunately, we called to our parents and told them that we needed more money so they sent us more and it was worth it. So later, we all went to the province of Misiones. It was a 12 hours trip because we were in the province of Entre Ríos, but it didn't matter, so on that Thursday, in the night we started our trip. We arrived at 8 in the morning, and then took other bus to the Falls, and then we paid the tickets, entered and took the train. We were a big group because all my dance friends went too. When the train arrived to the first stop, we had to walk a lot!!!...After walking so much, we saw the first fall. It was called the GARGANTA DEL DIABLO and it was amazing!!...The first thing I thought when I saw it was: "WOW THANKS MOM AND DAD I CANT EVEN REALIZE THAT IM HERE!!!"...Since we had only one day to get to know all the falls, we tried to do everything kind of fast. We returned to the train stop and started to walk along, and while we were walking, we saw some little falls in the way until we arrived to other fall. There was a bridge, and we all decided to go to the bridge were you could get wet and take pictures. Later, we noticed that there were boat trips in the lower Iguazu so we took advantage of that and had one. Once we were in the boat, we took our shoes off and put away our cameras because we were told that we were going to get wet. The trip started and they took us under the falls. The water was so cold!!...Then when the trip finished, we changed our clothes, ate and continued walking in the upper Iguazú were we saw all the falls. At 5 we returned to the bus stop, and started our trip back to Concordia. It was the most amazing trip because I went with all my friends and it was a big experience, and also because I learned more about the nature and other country.

DAYTONA BEACH...

Daytona Beach is a city located in Florida, USA. This beach is really famous because here they have the NASCAR races and the international Speedway. It's also very famous because, it's a spring break destination for all the people. It has a humid subtropical climate, summers are hot, and winters are dry.
On my summer, I went to the United States to visit my family and for tourism, so when we returned from North Carolina, we stayed in Orlando because we had a trip to Disney. The next day, after our trip to Disney, we decided to relax, fortunately, some days before, we were told that Daytona Beach was one of the most beautiful beaches the had, so we decided to go to Daytona Beach. We took our bathing suit and started our trip to Daytona Beach. After 2 hours, we arrived and parked the car. Before getting to the beach, we decided to stop by to buy some ice creams. We continued walking and got to the beach, it was amazing..!!! The entire scenario was wonderful and I really liked it because I hadn't ever seen a beach so beautiful, not even in Galapagos. I'm not saying that our beaches are ugly; it's just that they are different from Daytona. Well, we were really excited and we wanted to go to the water, but first, we went to the bridge to take a look of the entire scenario and the beach. The water was so clear and pacific; I think I was in love of that beach. After that, we went to the water. The ocean was really peaceful and it was like being in a pool, it didn't have waves at all, just some little ones and not at all the times. I think this is why I liked this beach the most. Other thing I really liked was that the sand was clear too and it was kind of white. After spending so much time in the water, I decided to go out for a tan because it was really hot and the sun was big and nice. So I went out, but unfortunately, I noticed that the tide was getting high, so I took advantage and returned to the water before it got higher. After that my parent told me that it was time to eat, so we ate and then returned to the car and drove near the beach to get to know the city a little bit more. We saw all the buildings and the streets, the bridges it had and then after the exhausting day, we returned to Orlando.
